Install the chat on your website

Live chat puts a chat bubble on your website. Visitors’ messages arrive in the CRM’s Live chat menu, and Atlas can answer them first.

Depending on your plan Settings › Live chat Organization owners and admins Try it in the demo

In Settings › Live chat, click Enable live chat. If your plan does not include live chat, a window offers to change plans. Until the chat is enabled, the Live chat menu tells members so.

The Websites card of the live chat settings: two websites, Site and Shop, each with its address, its Appearance, Edit and Delete buttons, and its code to copy.
  1. Add a website: give a name, the website address, a colour, a welcome title and a tagline. The name and address identify the website in conversations.
  2. Copy code and paste it right before </body>, on every page where the bubble should appear.
  3. The bubble shows on your website. The code does not change when you edit the name, colour or texts: you only paste it once.

Each website has its own code. Delete removes the bubble from that website; conversations already received stay in the CRM.

The website's Appearance window: colour, theme, corners and font, position and shape of the button, logo, welcome title and tagline, shortcuts, and the live preview of the bubble on the right.

Appearance opens the bubble settings for this website, with a preview that updates live:

  • Colours and shape: colour, theme (Light, Dark or Follow the visitor), corners and font. A Google font is loaded from Google Fonts, which sends the visitor’s IP address to Google.
  • Chat button: left or right, round or with text, and its distance from the bottom of the page.
  • Welcome: logo (PNG, JPEG, WebP or SVG, 2 MB at most), title, tagline, and who is online in the team.
  • Shortcuts (4 at most): buttons under “Write a message” that open a page of your website, the visitor’s messages, or offer a meeting in the chat.
  • Visitor data: the visitor journey (pages seen before writing, where they came from, number of visits) is sent only if the visitor agrees; page errors only concern signed-in, identified visitors. The current page, language, browser and approximate city are always visible.
  • Advanced CSS: applied inside the bubble only, never on your website. It depends on your plan.

An announcement is a message that opens in the bubble of your websites, once per visitor. A new announcement on a website replaces the previous one. A visitor who already came may see it up to an hour later.
