The pipeline as a Kanban

Opportunities show as a Kanban: one column per stage (Lead, Qualified, Proposal, Won, Lost…), one card per deal. Moving a deal forward means moving its card.

Opportunities as a Kanban: the Lead, Qualified, Proposal and Won columns with their card count and total amount, cards with amount, expected close and company, and Add at the bottom of each column.
  • Each column header gives the number of cards and the total of the amounts in the column. Like a list, the Kanban loads the first 200 records: beyond that, these totals only cover them, narrow down with a filter.
  • A card shows the deal’s name, up to three fields (amount, expected close…) and the linked records, like the company.
  • Click a card to open the opportunity.

The Card fields button (the three-column icon) picks the fields shown on the cards. Table goes back to the classic list.

Drag the card into another column: the opportunity’s stage changes right away.

A card's menu: Move to Qualified, Proposal, Won, Lost or No value, and Open record.

Without dragging, hover the card and click the two-arrow icon: Move to… lists the other stages, Open record shows it.

Tasks and the pipelines created in Data model also keep an order within each column: drag a card higher or lower, or use Move up and Move down in this menu.

Click Add at the bottom of a column, type the name then Enter: the card is created in that stage. If the object has other required fields, the full form opens instead, with the stage already filled in. New opportunity at the top of the page works too.

Every object can switch to Kanban: choose Kanban, then the column field in Group by. Projects by status, tasks by priority, companies by industry…

A card moves from one column to another when the field allows it: choice list, yes / no, country, linked record or text. Grouped by number (by range) or by date (by month), cards stay where they are.

The stages themselves (their names, colours and order) are set in Data model, on the Stage field. A stage that still holds records cannot be deleted.
