Build a sequence

A sequence is drawn in its canvas: each block is a step, from enrollment to the end, with the waits between them.

The canvas of the VivaTech 2026 leads sequence: the step palette on the left, the automatic exits, then the linked steps from enrollment to the end, with a two-branch condition.

Drag a step from the palette onto a link in the canvas, then click it to open it.

Step What it does
Automatic email An email in a new thread, filled then sent.
Email to review The same, but each filled email waits for your approval in To review.
Reply in thread An email sent as a reply to the previous one: the subject shown stays the first one’s.
Wait A number of business days before the next step, counted in the contact’s time zone when their country is known.
Condition A question with two branches, Yes and No.
Meeting task A task in Today to offer a meeting.

A sequence has 30 steps at most. Each email block shows its sends and replies.

The Following our chat at VivaTech step: versions A and B, the subject, the message with a record field, two fill-in texts and the booking link, the insert buttons, the instruction for Atlas, and on the right the preview filled for Claire Martin.
  • Subject and Message: as Plain text (like an email typed in Gmail, for prospecting) or Layout (the organization’s logo and colours, or a layout template, for invitations and announcements).
  • Record field inserts a value from the contact, such as their first name.
  • Fill-in text inserts a passage Atlas writes for each contact (eight at most per email).
  • Free slots inserts your booking link.
  • Start from a template reuses a mail template; Save as template keeps this message.
  • Before sending: I review every email filled by Atlas, or Atlas fills and sends (if it finds nothing reliable for a passage, the email still waits for your review).

On the right, the filled preview shows the email as a contact will get it, with what Atlas wrote for them highlighted and where it comes from. An unsubscribe link is always added at the bottom.

Editing the text of an active sequence does not change emails already sent: people who have not reached this step yet get the new version after publishing.

Tick Test two versions (A/B) to write a Version B. Each new enrollee gets one of the two at random. You choose what changes (the subject, the message or both), the split, whether the winner goes to everyone once the gap is reliable, and after how many sends per version the test stops. The result is in Results › A/B test.

The Energy sector? condition: the summary of both branches, the question, the A field test type, the company.industry field, the operator and the value.

A condition can test:

  • a field of the contact or a linked object (company, opportunity);
  • the category of the last reply, given by Verdict;
  • an email open or a click: only contacts whose opens are tracked count, the others go down “No”.

A task is created in Today for the record owner, then the sequence goes on. A meeting task prepares the invitation with your free slots and booking link; it ticks itself when the contact books, and the sequence then stops if stopping on a meeting is ticked.

The sending settings: the sender, sending days and hours with two ranges, the contact's time zone and public holidays, what stops the sequence and open tracking.
  • Sender: one of your Gmail or Outlook mailboxes, or Owner of each record (their mailbox if they allowed it in their settings, otherwise a fallback mailbox). The sending cap is shared with your other emails.
  • Sending days and hours: the days, one or two time ranges, the contact’s time zone when their country is known, and their country’s public holidays skipped.
  • Stop the sequence when: the contact replies (always), a meeting is booked, someone from their company replies, the opportunity moves to “Won” or “Lost”. Unsubscribes and bounces always stop it.
  • Open and click tracking: only for contacts who accepted it. The first email then asks them, as long as they have not answered.
