Sequences

A sequence sends a series of emails to contacts, one by one, from your Gmail or Outlook mailbox. It stops on its own as soon as the contact replies or unsubscribes, and by default also when they book a meeting (set in the sending settings).

The Sequences page: the New sequence button, the To handle today block, this week's sends by day and by mailbox, then the table of sequences with their status and numbers.
  • To handle today gathers the replies received (with the category given by Verdict: interested, not now…), the emails filled by Atlas waiting for your review and the meetings to offer.
  • This week’s sends shows the emails planned day by day, then each sending mailbox’s load over 24 hours. A paused mailbox is flagged.
  • The tabs filter All, Mine, Shared with the team (your colleagues’ sequences) and Archived.
  • Each row shows the sequence’s shape (emails, tasks, conditions) and length, its status, the people in progress, the reply rate, opens and meetings booked.

The reply rate counts contacts who replied out of those who got at least one email. Opens only count contacts who accepted tracking; they overstate reading, because Apple Mail opens emails on the person’s behalf.

The New sequence window: the name, then three starting points, Describe it to Atlas, Start from a template and Start from scratch, and the What the sequence should do field.

Click New sequence, name it, then pick a starting point:

  • Describe it to Atlas: write what the sequence should do (for example “follow up with people we met at our booth, three emails over two weeks, offer a 20-minute call”). Atlas draws the steps and writes the messages in the canvas.
  • Start from a template: a sequence saved by you, by your organization, or offered by Arcane.
  • Start from scratch: an empty canvas.

The sequence is created as a draft: nothing goes out until you publish it.

Save as template (a sequence’s More actions menu, or from the canvas) copies the steps and messages, without the enrolled contacts. Templates are listed in Settings › Templates and signature › Templates, section Sequence templates, where Use creates a new draft sequence.

  • A template is personal by default. Only the Owner and Admins share it with the organization.
  • Arcane also offers ready-made templates (follow-up after a trade show, quote with no reply…).
